Discover the longest river in Schleswig-Holstein, the Eider, on this cycling route. If you cycle east from Lunden, you will reach the river at the Nordfeld lock. Here you will find the transition area between salt- and freshwater-influenced river marshes and river mudflats.
The canoe launch in Horst invites you to take a leisurely break. Passing Horst you will reach the historic village of Delve with its many thatched roof houses. In Schwienhusen you have the possibility to cross the Eider with the Bargen ferry(runs between May and September), or to refresh yourself in the Eider. Along the green Eider-Treene lowland you drive towards Hennstedt. There you can strengthen yourself in cozy cafes with coffee & cake.
A small slope in Kleve marks the transition from the Geest to the Marsch. Continue on the Eider-Erlebnis-Route via Schlichting to the starting point in Lunden.
