Rund um Reichenbach/O.L. (Tour 15 im Landkreis Görlitz)

Reichenbach/O.L., a small, cozy town on the old Via Regia trade route, is a good starting point for the 40.5 km circular tour. The route leads past the late Gothic St. John's Church and the Hussite Gate to the Napoleon Bridge. From there, head north towards the Königshainer Berge, a granite mountain massif with beautiful hiking trails. The route continues through the Kanonenbuschnach to Markersdorf, where the village museum invites you to linger. After a visit, you cycle to Pfaffendorf, at the foot of the Landeskrone. Now you have the choice of cycling further east to visit Görlitz with its unique old town, or heading south to Jauernick-Buschbach. This small, tranquil village offers excellent views over Lake Berzdorf. The route continues to Deutsch-Paulsdorf, where the donkey farm is an absolute must for animal lovers. After this stop, you can discover a Holländer and Bock windmill in Sohland am Rotstein or enjoy the beautiful landscape from the observation tower on the Rotstein (Saxony's oldest nature reserve) before heading back to your starting point.
