Stork Route Gifhorn

Gifhorn - Wilsche - Müden/Aller - Meinersen - Leiferde - Ribbesbüttel - Isenbüttel - Tankumsee - Gifhorn
On the Stork Cycle Route Gifhorn, five stork nests can be experienced. Each nest is marked with a sign informing about hatched and fledged stork chicks. At the NABU Species Conservation Center in Leiferde, visitors can learn interesting facts about bird migration and the population development of storks in the region. A special highlight is the nest camera, through which one can observe the storks during breeding and raising their young. Along the route, there are also the salmon and water educational trail with a water playground in Meinersen. Päse, one of the most beautiful villages in Lower Saxony, the recreational area Tankumsee, and the mill town Gifhorn with the International Mill Museum, the Welf Castle, and the Old Town are also located along the route. The tour is not signposted.
