Description by the author

Starting point is the Lindenallee parking lot (directly on Einsiedler Sträßchen, before you reach the agricultural open space of Einsiedel).

From there, we follow the historic Lindenallee for a short distance to the crossroads. Continue via the second right-hand fork towards the Jägersitzhütte. Shortly before this, we keep right again. We follow the path until we reach the Reichenbach stream. This accompanies us for a few kilometers. When crossing the B464 to the Hofmeistersteige parking lot, caution is advised. We are rewarded with a descent into the Schaichtal valley.

Attention: a hiking trail also runs along the Hofmeister Trail; please take care. The route now leads along the Schaich towards Dettenhausen. At the Schaichtal barbecue hut, we leave the valley path and start the ascent. The upper half of the ascent is on the "landfill trail" and therefore a little more relaxed. We approach a water reservoir via the "Schwarzer Hau" district and a short stretch on the cycle path along the road. There, the path uphill contains a small chicane: either boldly push up or take a small detour.

Just a few meters further on, we reach the Eckberg hut with its parking lot. Once again, we cross the B464 with the appropriate caution. Past the Stadtreitereiche with its park and barbecue area, the route continues along the oldest nature reserve "Eisenbachhain" in the Schönbuch Nature Park. The old beech trees, or what is left of them, have their own fascinating effect at any time of year. The route continues leisurely with a small dip to the Jägersitzhütte, where the tour ends and we take the same route back to the starting point at the Lindenallee parking lot.

There are several suitable starting points along the Ranzenpuffer tour: Lindenallee parking lot, Hofmeistersteige parking lot, Eckberg parking lot, Stadtreitereiche parking lot. Another good starting point for the Ranzenpuffer tour is at the Dettenhausen sports grounds.Rest stops:
