Birkensee-Runde

A varied loop past the hermitage and Birkensee lake.

Starting from the Schaichhof parking lot, we follow the wide forest road in a southerly direction until the path splits. Keep to the right there!

After approx. 2 km, we reach the remains of the hermitage, a branch of Bebenhausen Monastery, so to speak. The route continues across the Bromberg plateau to the Altdorf water reservoir. Just a few steps further on, a rest area with barbecue facilities invites you to take a break. We continue to the hurricane Wiebke stone. We leave the forest and walk through fields, meadows and the Schönbuch golf course back to the starting point at the Schaichhof parking lot. There is also a rest area with a barbecue here.The Birkensee can be reached via a detour from the actual route (not signposted). As there are numerous rare plant and animal species in the Birkensee area, we would ask all visitors not to leave the boardwalk, pick anything or leave any garbage behind. Thank you very much.

The Birkensee loop is signposted in both directions. There is a shortcut, which is also signposted.
