Description by the author

The Willibrord Pilgrimage Trail owes its name to the whale rides that took place to venerate St. Willibrord from Echternach from the 15th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

to the beginning of the 20th century. The church in Willibrordstraße, which is now a Protestant church, was the destination of supplicants whose children were suffering from head colds. The trail leads from the starting point through a small wood up to the Steiners, from where the long climb is rewarded with a beautiful view over the lake. The Saarland circular hiking trail takes you to the Peterberg, the Peterberg Chapel and the summer toboggan run (access in the valley). The Peterberg observatory is also located up here.
