This tour is a special experience in the evening hours, as on this tour you have the opportunity to observe the sunset at Herkener Meer, Reeser Meer, and from the dike. This tour takes you past the castle ruins of Empel. The castle Empel was first mentioned in a document in 1339. Over the centuries, epochs and owners have constantly changed this property before the war put it into a deep sleep. The cultural office of the city of Rees offers public tours of the restored castle ruins. Passing by Herkener Meer through Haldern, along Reeser Meer, and back to Rees on the dike.
