With the TERRA.track Schmittenhöhe you can hike through the forest area Breite Heide and the Kalkrieser Berg northwest of Ostercappeln in the Bramscher district of Evinghausen in the Wiehengebirge.

It is said that the Varusschlacht took place here in the year 9 AD between Romans and Germans. Just a few kilometers away from this TERRA.track is the Museum Varusschlacht and Park Kalkriese.
