Goldsteig N 10 Herzogau – Furth im Wald

After Herzogau, the Goldsteig leads to the next summit, the Klammerfelsen with its 360-degree viewing tower. The trail continues through beautiful rock formations before the Goldsteig leaves the forest before Althütte in the direction of Gasthaus Gibacht. At the "Pfennigfelsen", the view seems limitless: of Waldmünchen and the Ulrichsgrün valley, the high-altitude mountain village of Herzogau, the Schwarzwihrberg and the Frauenstein. The trail then leads to the border with the Czech Republic, the Drei Wappen rock (901 m) and the "Drei Wappen" border crossing, an old border point dating back to 1766 between Bavaria, Bohemia and the Upper Palatinate. The trail continues to the Kreuzfelsen (938 m) and the Gläsernes Kreuz am Reiseck (902 m). A steep descent takes the hiker to the Robert-Hütte on the Gaisriegel - here too there is a wonderful view over the Further Valley to the Hohenbogen, the Osser in the Lamer Winkel and the Voithenberg castle complex. Passing the golf course and game reserve, the stage destination Furth im Wald is reached.
