Hufeisenweg

Through the Zellertal valley - in the footsteps of the Whitsun Knights: Along Ludwigstraße and Pfingstreiterstraße, you leave the city center largely in the footsteps of the Whitsun Knights. After the village of Grub (refreshment stop: Gasthof Fechter), the trail joins a small valley floor and leads along forest paths via the hamlets of Maiberg and Himmelreich to Steinbühl (refreshment stop: Gasthof Steinbühler Hof) to the Nikolauskirche, the annual destination of the equestrian procession on Whit Monday. The trail then leads you out of the village to the valley floor of the Kaitersbach stream. The way back is mostly along the small side road that leads through the hamlets of Weidenhof, Leckern and Kaitersbach. Numerous wayside crosses, chapels and old farmhouses adorn the path. The trail then leads you back to Bad Kötzting via Ludwigsberg.
