The Ruhrhaldenweg is a 580 km long long-distance hiking trail that connects the spoil heaps, garden cities, and former mines of the Ruhr metropolis. A chain of footpaths, towpaths, small and large roads, converted railway lines, and spoil heap paths takes you through the entire Ruhr area, from Moers and Duisburg in the west to Dortmund and Bergkamen in the east.
From Mülheim train station, this 38th stage leads you to the idyllic Ruhr riverbank. Through a chain of forests, you reach the large Entenfangsee. We walk past various lakes, climb the Wolfsberg and its observation tower, and end this forest day at Duisburg-Großenbaum train station.
