Nature base - A space for learning, coziness, and nature experiences

The nature base is the area's gathering place for outdoor life and nature-related experiences – built from recycled materials and with respect for the surrounding nature. The open and bright wooden house is located right next to the natural area with a lake, abundant birdlife, and wildflowers, creating a natural meeting place for both short and longer stays.

Here you can enjoy your packed lunch at the accompanying picnic tables, find shelter from the weather, or use the place as a base for learning and activities outdoors. The nature base is designed so that school classes, institutions, families, hikers, and nature communicators can use the space – and thanks to the wheelchair-friendly ramp, it is accessible even with a wheelchair.

The locked equipment room contains fishing nets and equipment to explore life in the lake, as well as fire pans, popcorn pots, and waffle irons for cooking over the fire in the fire house. If you wish to borrow equipment, you can contact the homeowners' association for access.

From the nature base, there is also easy access to the footpath that leads directly to Tracks in the Landscape – an obvious opportunity to combine your stay with a hiking trip through the nature reserve and further towards Bøtø Forest, where the wild horses and cows reside.

For the adventurous, small geocaching "treasures" are hidden in the area, ready to be found by both children and adults – a fun activity that makes the nature experience even more lively.

The nature base is a place that invites you to be present in nature – in community, curiosity, play, or tranquility.
