The loading area has been a natural harbor where ships anchored at high tide, and when the tide was out, goods were transported further. On the wall of the bonfire hut, there are posters telling about the life that took place in the area in olden days.

There is direct access to Varde Å via a walkway and boat dock. And there are good opportunities to dock, whether coming by boat, canoe, or kayak. There is parking close by.

The area serves as an overnight spot for hikers on the Coast-to-Coast Trail.

However, everyone is welcome to set up a tent, overnight in the shelter, or just eat the brought food in the bonfire hut. So whether you come by water, on foot, by bike, or by car, you are welcome.
