Queralt Mountain Range

The Queralt mountain range is located within the municipality of Berga, with an approximate height of 1280 m. It serves as a viewpoint of the city of Berga, ideal for starting this route. Those who wish can visit the city and its old town. However, for those who prefer a quieter visit, the Sanctuary of Queralt, also known as Santa Maria de Queralt, is recommended. It is one of the most important attractions in the region.
This primitive sanctuary was built in 1386 by the merchant from Bergueda, Francesc Garreta. The current church is a building constructed in the 18th century, in Renaissance style. Also part of the Sanctuary is the annex building to the Church, newly constructed and intended for shelter, located beneath the bell tower.
Above the sacristy of the church is the chapel of the Virgin of Queralt. It is a Gothic example in wood, which preserves very marked Romanesque features, where the Virgin is represented seated. This sanctuary is a center of devotion within the region.
