The Tranco reservoir, popularly known as El Tranco de Beas, is a reservoir located in the Natural Park of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura, and Las Villas, in the northeast of the province of Jaén, Spain. It is one of the largest reservoirs in Spain, whose construction began in 1929 and was completed in 1944. In its vicinity, a settlement was created to house the workers who were involved in its construction. Today, its inhabitants are workers from the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation, Endesa, and the descendants of former employees.[1]
