Plaza de España is a pedestrian square in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, previously known as Plaza de La Victoria.
It is a large circular square that acts as a roundabout for the busy Avenida de Mesa y López. Its interior is partially landscaped, and in its center stands a monumental set of four sculptures that are 14 meters tall, installed to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the founding of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, representing craftsmanship, agriculture, fishing, and the Canarian mother. The author is Luis Montull.[1] In 2020, the pedestrianization of the square began as part of its integration into the project for the pedestrianization of Avenida José Mesa y López, which includes the construction of 2 grandstands and spaces for kiosks and stalls.
