Church of San Dionisio - Jerez de la Frontera - Andalusia

The Church of Sant Dionís was built in the Gothic-Mudéjar style in the first half of the 15th century , although it was remodeled in the Baroque style in the 18th century.

It is a basilica-style church divided into three naves by tall cross pillars adorned with large cushion arches. Inside, the side chapels, the tabernacle and the baptistery are of great architectural value . Dating to the early 16th century, the image of Christ of the Waters has a tradition of popular worship in times of scarce rain . Another valuable sculpture is the statue of Nuestra Señora del Mayor Dolor, a Baroque work (circa 1718) attributed to Ignacio López.

In 2010 the pillars were reinforced. In 2017, among other improvements to the temple, the roofs and stone walls were restored, the parish complex was restored, and the ancient crypt under the presbytery, which was converted into a columbarium, was restored.
