GR-192. Stage 05. Balsa del Povet de l'Amorós-Amposta (Link GR-92)

Stage 05 of the GR-192, connecting Balsa del Povet de l'Amorós with Amposta, offers a unique experience in the heart of the Ebro Delta. With a length of 22.7 kilometers and a cumulative elevation gain of 127 meters, this route presents a difficulty level considered hard, ideal for hiking enthusiasts looking for a challenge. Along the way, hikers will have the opportunity to discover the rich biodiversity of the delta, a vital ecosystem that houses a wide variety of flora and fauna. The route winds through landscapes of rice fields and wetlands, where migratory birds can be observed and the tranquility of this natural environment can be enjoyed. One of the highlights of this stage is the Hermitage of Coll del Alba, located in Tortosa. This church, which is part of the Bajo Ebro region in the province of Tarragona, is a place of historical and cultural interest. Upon reaching Amposta, hikers will encounter the iconic Amposta suspension bridge that crosses the Ebro River.
