Jean Graton, the author of the cartoon character Michel Vaillant, was born in Nantes on August 10, 1923. He moved to Belgium just after the Worldwar and started drawing cartoon characters. In 1957, he created his succesful characters “Michel Vaillant”, the motorchampion “Julie Wood” and “Steve Warson”. They came together in the album “Paris-Dakar” of “Michel Vaillant”.
