Le Bignon is a French commune with 3,907 inhabitants in the Loire-Atlantique department in the Pays de la Loire region; it belongs to the Nantes arrondissement and the Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu canton. The inhabitants are called Bignonnais. Le Bignon is located about 14 kilometers south-southeast of Nantes. Here in the Gros Plant du Pays Nantais wine-growing area, primarily Muscadet is produced. Le Bignon is surrounded by the neighboring communes of Les Sorinières to the north, Vertou to the north and northeast, Saint-Fiacre-sur-Maine to the northeast, Château-Thébaud to the east, Montbert to the south, Geneston to the south and southwest, La Chevrolière to the west and southwest, and Pont-Saint-Martin to the west and northwest.
