Busbeke is a municipality in the French Nord department and has 4,393 inhabitants. The locality is part of the Lille arrondissement. The village is located along the Lys, between Zuid-Wervik and Halewijn.
The origin of the name Busbeke can be traced back to the West Flemish words "Busch" and "Beke," which make it clear that the village originated by a stream in a forest. The village was first mentioned in writings in 1143 as Busbeca. The current French name is derived from this and is a French phonetic imitation.
