Remollon

Remollon is a French commune located in the Hautes-Alpes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
The village of Remollon is situated on the right bank of the Durance valley, a little downstream from the Serre-Ponçon dam. It was established on a promontory, amid hills located on the sunny side of the valley, which are quite favorable for vine cultivation. At the foot of the village lies a vast plain of "conquests" gained from the bed of the Durance thanks to extensive embankment works and the construction of the Serre-Ponçon dam, all of which contributed to taming a river previously known as one of the most devastating in the country due to the magnitude of its floods. This agricultural area, very conducive to fruit growing due to the climate, the nature of the terrain, and the average altitude, now constitutes one of the main resources of the village.
