One of the most famous pictures of the Cathedral St Etienne in Bourges is actually a hoax. The image is a collage existing out of 5 images. Its creator is Jurg Roessen. The church used in the photo manipulation is indeed the Cathedral St Etienne in Bourges but it doesn't look like this. Some sources state that the picture is from Saint-Etienne-le-Vieux, a former church, now partly in ruins, situated in the old town center of Caen, France. But Roessen confirms that the main part of the picture is taken from the Cathedral St Etienne in Bourges. Peculiar to know is that this picture is present in numerous lists of "beautiful abandoned places".
