A private château still inhabited by the same family, it is open to the public every day of the year. Cheverny is considered to be the most magnificently furnished château in the Loire Valley. Gobelin and Flanders tapestries, Louis XIV and Louis XV chests of drawers, Louis XV regulator, the King's bedroom... and a thousand other marvels will enchant you. The Château de Cheverny served as a model for Hergé's Moulinsart castle. The permanent exhibition ‘The Secrets of Moulinsart’ takes visitors on a life-size tour of the events that took place in this legendary place. Discover the castle's superb grounds by electric car and boat (April to November). Enjoy a sweet or savoury, gourmet or thirst-quenching break at the Café de l'Orangerie (April to November).
