CITÉ MÉDIÉVALE DE LA GARDE-GUERIN

City of the "pariers", since the 12th century, one of the most beautiful villages in France, the Garde Guérin appears as a strategic place. This fortified complex located on the Régordane road overlooks the Chassezac gorges.

The ancient texts mention the "castrum". By "castrum" we mean the fortified enclosure of the village, which contains the houses of the lords of La Garde or Chevaliers Pariers and the castle.

The castle currently refers to the terrace at the foot of the tower and the ruins of the house of the Molette de Morangiés.
The existence of a lordly residence was only possible when, in 1569, the Molette de Morangiès had united in their possession all the "paréries", putting an end to the system of co-ownership that had prevailed until then.

They built a vast dwelling in angle, in the western part called the Meadow of the tower.
