Jacques Chirac Museum

It presents the gifts received by the President of the Republic in the performance of his duties since 1995. A museum of contemporary history, it offers a look at today's world through a permanent exhibition showcasing a selection of gifts (150 objects), divided by geopolitical areas and situated in their context: state visits, international summits, private visits, the very beautiful 600 m² hall reserved for temporary exhibitions, the accessible reserve offers visitors a view of 1300 objects available for free access. This space is equipped with interactive mediation: touchscreen terminals provide information to visitors on each object, and this information is supplemented by four short films. The exhibition dossier room is dedicated to thematic presentations on the collection, the museum library, intended for the books of the collection, contains 10,000 volumes. A lending and conservation library, it offers a variety of works for consultation and loan. These are works belonging to the museum's documentary collection or deposited by the departmental lending library. The animation workshop for schoolchildren and young audiences is the place for educational and cultural activities, while the auditorium, with a capacity of 80, hosts screenings and performances. The museum also features a bookstore and publications.
