A suspended moment, not quite in the country but far from the noise of the city, so close. The long tree-lined driveway leads me to Château de la Grange. I arrive in the gravel courtyard. Watch your shoes! Avoid heels, prefer sneakers. No castle today, I'm concentrating on the garden. Spring arrives as boxwood, lilies and meadow flowers greet and smile at me. The season begins. In front of me, giraffes and green hinds brighten up the lawns and amaze me. Benches invite me to settle down and enjoy the silence. Further on, a greenhouse - rather modern, I must say - is home to the plantations. Next year, I'll be greeted by new, colorful, flowering faces. I close my eyes and let the sun warm my face. Little birds sing, I smell the tickling scents of nature. And yet I'm not so far from Thionville.

The Prairiales garden can be visited from Easter weekend until the last weekend in September.
