Bruch Village

The two magnificent towers that overlook the village and the remains of the rampart still visible testify to the troubled past of the region during the feudal era. The origins of the village remain obscure, but the settlement dates back at least to the Merovingian period (5th century). The town developed throughout the Middle Ages, passing from hand to hand, from French lords to English lords, and living in rhythm with the episodes of French history, such as the religious wars. An ancient fortified settlement, Bruch has managed to preserve some remnants of the wall that once protected the village. Dating back to the 13th century, the North Tower is one of the two former entrances of the town, and it will surprise you with its unusual architecture. It beautifully combines the architectural style typical of defensive structures with the refinement and elegance of seigneurial buildings.
