LA CHAPELLE DU BRABANT

Chapel located at the top of the Brabant Pass. 2 legends exist around a cross, embedded in one of its walls. The first concerns a young shepherd who would have noticed the presence of a doe among his herd of goats. This young man considered that this doe was the same as the one who had suckled the son of the countess Geneviève de Brabant and thus got into the habit of coming to pray at the place chosen by the animal to graze. The famous cross was also erected there. The second legend refers to a young woman and her baby, in distress, who sought refuge one winter evening in the area of the Brabant Pass. That evening, all the houses remained closed. The next day, the inhabitants of Brabant discovered the lifeless bodies of the mother and her son and decided to erect a cross in their memory.
