On the border between the Meuse and Haute-Marne departments, the French national radioactive waste management agency (Andra) is working on the design of the Cigéo industrial geological disposal center, and preparing for its arrival in the region. Studies are focusing in particular on rocks and their behavior, materials and project engineering.

The guided tour of the "Dessus/dessous" exhibition immerses visitors in the Cigéo model, following the path of a radioactive waste package from production to disposal. It shows how the future facility will function, from the surface buildings (top) to the underground storage cells (bottom). The tour continues with the discovery of life-size robots and prototypes.
Guided tours are free of charge for individuals, by appointment only for groups.

The "Archéo, une expo à creuser!" exhibition offers families a fun way to discover the techniques and trades of archaeologists, from late March to late October. It is presented in connection with the archaeological digs due to start this summer around Andra?s Cigéo geological storage project.
The exhibition invites us to plunge into the heart of archaeology and discover the work of researchers who are taking us back in time. On an excavation site, trowel in hand, visitors can uncover remains (bones, pottery, coins, etc.) and learn how to observe and identify them. Then, in a laboratory, they can make pieces of pottery, bones, seeds and coins "speak", and learn how archaeologists reconstruct the history of the past. An immersive, fun and scientific experience, accessible to all.
Various events will be held in conjunction with this exhibition throughout the year. On March 28 and 29, the Cité des Leuques association will be offering Gallo-Roman workshops in pottery, mosaics, basketry and games.
