Port des Callonges

This is a typical port on the Gironde Estuary where fishing vessels and yachts moor. The banks are dotted with carrelets, those little wooden fishing huts on stilts. A landing stage has been set up to berth passenger boats. Kayaking excursions are organized during the summer, and a mini-farm offers a variety of walking tours. Near the port, Terres d’Oiseaux gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy the ornithological treasure troves that are the marshes. A panoramic restaurant with a view of the estuary and an open-air café offer food and beverages with the chance to enjoy the tourist facilities.
