Overlooking the river Seine, Château-Gaillard is the first site to welcome you to Les Andelys. Richard the Lionheart's, King of England, fortress has witnessed the rivalry between the Duchy of Normandy and the Kingdom of France. Below the castle, Le Petit Andely displays its medieval charm as well as a picturesque river Seine setting with beautiful Norman houses and the splendid Saint Jacques hospital. Le Grand Andely also has a lot of charm with its museum, its collegiate church and its miraculous fountain. Make the most of a walk to take in stunning views of the river Seine. Ideally located on the edge of the Vexin Normand region, you will find accommodation and restaurants there before going to explore Normandy.
