The French military cemetery of Crouy is located west of the municipality of Crouy, in the direction of Les Vaussorts. Erected in 1917, at the very moment of the battle of the Chemin des Dames, this 60-acre necropolis shelters the bodies of 2,994 combatants, including 2,991 soldiers who died during the period 1914-1918. 1.465 remains are in individual graves and 1,476 in two ossuaries located at the top of the necropolis. The cemetery also contains the graves of 50 British soldiers who fell in September and October 1914. Of these, 20 could not be identified. It should also be noted that these graves were moved from Bucy-le-Long and Missy-sur-Aisne, in order to be grouped together in this common place, after the Armistice. A French soldier and two Polish soldiers, killed during the Second World War, are also buried here.
