Musée Fernand Léger - André Mare

Two of the 20th century’s most iconic artists, Fernand Léger and André Mare, were both born in Argentan, Normandy, and spent their childhood and teenage years there. Their shared love for painting and drawing was to strengthen a sincere friendship that would nourish their respective creativity. The museum traces and tracks their lives from their beginnings in Argentan to international recognition, emphasising their mutual emulation, the love they shared for their native land and highlighting how their works were influenced by the experiences of their youth.
