Domaine de Romefort lies just five minutes from the medieval pilgrimage site of St Leonard de Noblat. This town, as well as Domaine de Romefort, is located on the centuries-old pilgrimage route that runs between St Jacques de Compostella (Spain) and Rome. The origin of the word Romefort comes from “Romaeus” and “fort” - a solid and secure (Roman) place for the protection of pilgrims.
