Sedan was a princely and Protestant town for a long time until 1642, but with the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, the Protestant temple was transformed into a Catholic church.
In 1896 a new Protestant temple was built on the Place d'Alsace-Lorraine. In Roman-Byzantine style, a flagship style of the 19th century, it is the work of architect Henri Couty thanks to funding from Pastor Goulen. Since 1930, the bodies of Turenne's parents, servants of Louis XIII and Richelieu, have been in the temple along with five other relatives.
Byzantine-style stained glass windows depict Christ, the four evangelists and the apostle Paul. The nave under three domes is separated from the aisles by side columns supporting the stands. Outside, the portal is sheltered by a portico flanked by double columns. The rosette on it is protected by an openwork pediment. The bell tower with four skylights is attached to the right side of the building which was inaugurated in 1896. Attached to the temple are a rectory and a school with 3 classes.
