The old Vicat cement plant of Genevrey, located in the French municipality of Vif, in Isère, was the very first cement factory built by Joseph Vicat in 1857, four years after the creation of the first beehive kilns in 1853. Abandoned in favor of the Vicat plants in Saint-Égrève and Voreppe in the 1970s, the current site of this cement factory is now just an industrial wasteland that is off-limits.
