Place Jean Bart is a square in the northern French port city of Dunkirk. This location in the city centre owes its name to the Dunkirk privateer Jan Baert (French name: Jean Bart). A statue of the latter sailor by sculptor David d'Angers (1845) stands in the centre of the square.
Throughout history, the square has also been known as Place Royale and Place de la Liberté.
The central location makes Place Jean Bart a suitable location for events. The Zoom Festival, Le Printemps de la place Jean-Bart and Dunkerque la Féérique[have all used or are using the square.
