Eglise Saint-Laurent

Superb and original cult site. Inside the church, architectural elements from the early Gothic period can be dated between 1175 and 1220. Note the absence of side aisles, the narrowness of the nave, the elegance of the Gothic heart, its swimming pool in a niche (to wash the sacred vases and prepare the bread and wine of the Eucharist), the shrine and the chapel of St. Lawrence. The church, fortified around 1584, has attics fitted out as a refuge, which can be accessed from the tower on the north side, numerous gunboats were pierced in the walls, and bretèches, supported by three consoles, completed the structure. The round tower, protecting the northern transept, dates from 1480 and is one of the oldest defence towers in our region. Finally, note the beautiful cornices with modillions.
