Sébastien Vonier erected three ghostly sculptures in the middle of trees and an abundant vegetation, each of which is detached from the logic of representation and made up of a balance of self-supporting beams. These almost abstract forms, drawn with a particular precision, represent a renunciation of the superfluous and question the dualist oppositions between order and disorder, fertility and drought, suspension and revival. It is all about maintaining a tension where uncertainty and its share of mystery take on an active role and take the matter out of its inertia. It is a strange scene where undefinable sentinels meet around an imaginary fireplace and stir it up as an inexhaustible reserve of forces and possibilities.
