The history of the village is intimately linked to the existence of the bridge over the Tarn and the clock tower that extends it. This village, with its eventful past, was not built on the basis of a castle or an old church, but on the basis of this bridge and the "toll tower" that faces it. It is the highly strategic position of the village, located on the passage of the Languedoc and Tarn rivers, which gave it this function of ford allowing it to control the access of men and animals, but also to levy taxes on passage
The existence of a bridge at this place seems to date from the Middle Ages, but the current structure is later. It is composed of two arches and a forebay built in large granite apparatus
The clock tower is a square building with six levels, topped by a metal bell tower and a clock from 1897. It is protected as a Historic Monument as well as the clock.
