For a long time, the Larrañeta house in Lecumberry has been the essential stop for the shepherds of Iraty and Béhorléguy who felt at home in this inn-grocery. Gilles and Lydia, landless shepherds since 2001, took over and opened "l'étape des bergers" in 2021. The old grocery store has been converted to sell their farm products and why not reopen the bar with its counter carved in tribute to pastoralism?
No question of leaving customers hungry. Lydia is in the kitchen and offers you plates of cold cuts, meats from their farms, fries and cheese of course!
Hikers, bikers and motorcyclists can also make their choice in the store to compose their snack.
The herds are in summer near the peak of Béhorléguy from May to October. Do not hesitate to discover the life of the shepherds at the kayolar Ipaskoa.
