La Forêt d'Art Contemporain : La Constellation Cazalis, oeuvre n°26

At the top of one of these horseshoe-shaped dunes (Doucs in Gascony), shaped by westerly winds since the end of the last Ice Age, you can feel the wave-like sand formations with all their attendant legends. In the 19th century, with the great sewage works, the forest came to cover and freeze this ancient world. The artist imagined the sea before the sand, and brought up from the depths a giant copy of a small crack in a rock. From its cracked base, you can see the shafts of a colossal forest, the likes of which once existed on our planet, and are bathed in a light that draws flocks of birds on the walls.
