The valley of hell is located not far from Saint-Léger de Peyre in the Gévaudan. The gorges formed naturally by the regressive erosion of the Crueize River are around 400 metres deep in places!
In spite of the valley's entrenchment, a small road crosses it and even a railway line (19th century, Béziers - Neussargues), for which it was necessary to build the Viaduc de l'Enfer, designed by Bauby and Boyer (designer of the Garabit d'Eiffel viaduct)
The vegetation of the valley changes according to the exposure of the slopes and offers varied landscapes to this natural heritage.
The road that crosses the Hell Valley is quite narrow, but there are facilities that facilitate crossings and allow poses to admire the landscape and the Viaduct of Hell!
