The construction of the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes chapel follows the destruction of the oratory established on the lower gate of the city during the 16th century
To offer a new shelter to the statue of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, at the end of the 19th century, Canon Gibelin and the Quatreuil-Brugeron couple decided to build a small chapel, between 1877 and 1880, to replace this oratory and to offer a devotional chapel to the inhabitants of the town as well as to pilgrims
Overlooking the Truyère valley, it is built of granite stones on its lower part and has a light coating on its upper part. It has a sober architecture which is however particular by its construction in height and little extended in width. The entrance is through a west portal covered with a pointed arch and topped by an oculus
Inside, there are lancets covered with a pointed arch. The stained glass windows are in the image of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes.
