National necropolis of the 1st World War where the soldiers killed following the Battle of Abreschviller on 21 August 1914 were gathered. They are buried there: - 464 French soldiers, including 77 unknown in 83 tombs and 2 ossuaries, -370 German soldiers, including 117 unknown, in 70 tombs and 1 ossuary. After the battle, the inhabitants of Abreschviller and other villages were requisitioned to bury the corpses and to give them temporary burial. After the war, the bodies were exhumed for identification and reburied in necropolises.
