Facing the Atlantic Ocean, the Port of Capbreton, the only port in the Landes (40), is the privileged gateway to a city with a rich maritime past, in the heart of a preserved natural environment. Close to immense beaches of fine sand and the Landes forest, it is a unique natural area in Europe for a precious and convivial stopover
Fishing: Fishing has been practiced for more than 7 centuries and is abundant: sole, sea bream, squid (here called chipiron, hake, pout, meagre...). As for the professional fishermen of Capbreton, with their fleet of 19 boats, they practice artisanal fishing mainly with nets, but also with bottom trawls, longlines or traps. The fruit of their fishing is sold every day at the foot of the Capitainerie.
It is the starting point for many water activities: sailing, sea trips, sea fishing, jet-skiing...
