Located 4 km from Montiers-sur-Saulx, the former Écurey art and ornamental foundry has opened its doors after a complete refurbishment.
The former industrial buildings of the 19th-century foundry and a number of 18th-century buildings bearing witness to the former Cistercian abbey are now home to the "Écurey, Pôles d?avenir" center. A place of experimentation for "living well in a rural environment", it includes a museographic space, high-quality cultural programming, a bar, reception areas and agricultural activities (nettles, market gardening). Visitors to the 9-hectare site are invited to explore the former abbey and factory along a pathway, which also provides a glimpse of the model store with its exceptional collection of cast-iron models.
An exhibition traces the history of the site and the Barrois region.
The site is open from April to October. Guided tours are available on request all year round. Audio guides are available in French, German and English (3?).
During opening hours, a bar and a store selling local produce are available.
Cultural program available on the website.
