Lac du Forlet (Lac des Truites)

The Lac du Forlet (or Lac des Truites) is located near the Gazon du Faing nature reserve. At 1061 metres above sea level, it is the highest of all the Vosges lakes and occupies an ancient glacial cirque with vertiginous walls. The Tanet (1292m) and the Gazon de Faîte (1306m), admirably dominate the lake whose surface area is 2.8 ha.

A thousand colours surround the lake: between peat bogs, steep walls, rocky screes, trees and firs, it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful lakes in the Vosges mountains, all of which makes us think of an alpine setting. A picnic area by the lake invites you to rest and enjoy a good meal.

From the terrace of the adjoining farmhouse inn of the same name, gourmets will be able to admire the landscape while tasting a marcaire meal typical of these farms, Munster cheese and fruit tarts.
