After 13 years of excavation and five years of development work, the commune of Moutier-Rozeille, population 430, near Aubusson, has just opened a 1.5 km archaeological trail to the public.
Next to the Moutier-Rozeille church, a large signpost introduces visitors to the 1.5-kilometre trail, which takes them back in time. Visitors have two options: take a path that climbs to the heights of the village of Saint-Hilaire, or join it by road. There, amidst the houses of the village of Saint-Hilaire stand ruins, as if emerging from history.
A small museum is also open to the public near the Moutier-Rozeille town hall.
